About Us

The Friends of the Performing Arts Center was established in 1994 to support the Portland Center for the Performing Arts (PCPA) through region-wide community outreach, advocacy and fundraising for capital enhancements. We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to maintaining high-quality theatres that bring premier performances to our community.

Friends is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization with a 10-member Board of Directors. We rely on the support of PCPA volunteers and provide the following services to members and the community at large:

Bimonthly Calendar of Events, mailed to members, provides advance notification of PCPA performances and inside news.

Advocacy to monitor public policy on issues that affect PCPA, its resident companies and the arts.

Securing grants and donations that support our programs and services.

Fundraising and sponsorship through the Name A Seat capital campaign, which aims to raise $6 million for repair, replacement and upgrades in PCPA's theatres.

Join your Friends in the Arts Today.

If you believe the arts are important to our community, you have friends. Join us and help maintain and enhance a place for the arts to flourish.

When you join Friends of the Performing Arts, you receive benefits, such as discounts and mailings that keep you in the loop about events and performances. But most of all, you have the satisfaction of knowing that you're helping maintain a thriving, diverse arts community that enriches our region and our lives.
